Co-washing - Part 1

What is co-wash?

This is new for me too, but believe me, it works! I was first introduced to this thing called Cleansing Conditioner by Clarissa, The Hair Routine's Founder. I have to admit, I  doubted it initially but when I tested it I was pleasantly surprised.

What does a conditioner do?

Conditioner Washing, or co-washing, is a technique of washing the hair in a more gentle way. The conditioner is the hair product that has the least effect on the hair's natural pH. This way, the cuticles of the hair strands don't open as much as it would when using shampoo and they stay more preserved.

The magic of it is that it's an all-in-one formula that cleanses, hydrates and conditions the hair in one step. It eliminates the need for the rubbing and scrubbing that cause hair damage. Just make sure you find one conditioner that does not contain silicons, waxes or petrol derivates.

The good news is that the Balancing Conditioner works perfectly for this technique.

However, if you are not ready to start co-washing or you would like to alternate, this Balancing Shampoo does not contain sulfates. Sulfates are the damaging detergents that strip natural oils and moisture from your hair.
