The first thing you need to learn if you want to be able to asses which of the two your hair needs (nutrition or moisturization) is the difference between them, and how they function in terms of helping your hair be healthier.
Nutrition helps control volume and frizz and helps balance volume, even the oiliest hair needs nutrition to balance the oiliness .
Your hair needs a nourishing treatment when:
- your hair feels dull
- your hair feels brittle
Moisturization helps control the amount of water your hair absorbs and retains. Hair needs a certain amount of hydration to be soft and malleable. Every hair type needs hydration to smooth out the scales on the hair cuticles.
Your hair needs a moisturizing treatment when:
- your hair is not shiny and puffy
- your hair gets frizzy and dry
Sugar, aloe vera, and vitamin B5 are some ingredients that you should consider for a moisturizing mask.
Both very different but very necessary
You need both moisturization and nutrition because water is essential for carrying nourishing agents, and very damaged hair will need to be hydrated before it is nourished. Generally speaking, thick hair needs more deep nourishing treatments than finer hair, but if you want to be completely sure I would recommend getting a personal Hair Routine.
